For the final level I was planning on doing something to do with dreams, after teaming up with charlie we decided to do a dreamscape with an ancient egyptian tone with some of his character ideas implemented into the world.
I was planning to have the level start off as you find a sarcophagus in an abandoned cart, after you get into the sarcophagus you would be transported into an ancient tomb where you would wake up in (this would be the transition into the dream) but after a while of planing with charlie we decided to scrap the idea of i being a dream and moved onto having the player start off inside the tomb and being redirected towards an ancient palace on the overground (designed by charlie)
While I was planning the old level i did some concept art from which I took inspiration from the movie Coraline and the game Little Nightmares. The game would have been set in a forest landscape and been based around fears.
While planning the ancient egyptian level with charlie he made alot of research and moodboards for the level. On the left is the design for the "eyeba palace" which would be the end goal of the game, the player would leave the tomb and be directed towards the palace with promise of the "real treasure" being there. On the right is the layout of the level and how the overworld would look like.
The image below is of the moodboard that was made to depict the ancient egyptian feel of the level.
The tomb part of the level was referenced around the actual layout of egyptian tombs, below is an image of the valley of kings and a portion of the tomb charlie modelled out.
Below is a wide shot of the overworld from the top of the eyeba palace.
